Who is this Qualification for?

The course has been designed for unemployed people, aged 19+ and seeking to work in the Security Services Industry. This course provides the underpinning theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the industry.

How will this qualification improve my career prospects?

The qualifications delivered on this course are specified requirements by the industry. The qualification # is aimed at anyone working or wishing to work in the Match Day and Event Stewarding Industry. This could include a variety of sporting or musical events. The qualification meets the requirements laid out in the Football Licensing Authority’s Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (known as the Green Guide). It also provides knowledge and competency components for the Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Spectator Safety.

What will I study on the course?

This qualification consists of 6 mandatory units:

Course Enrichments:

Level 1 Certificate in Workskills:This certificate is intended to equip learners with the skills to enable them to complete the process of applying for employment and having the confidence to participate in interviews and increase the potential of a successful job outcome.

Improvised Explosive Device Awareness (IED):This award is designed to give learners an awareness of the component parts of an IED, what learners need to be aware of and the actions to take on discovery of a suspicious package.

Fire Safety Awareness:This award is designed to give learners an awareness of the effects of fire, the causes and how to deal with fires. Learners will also be able to identify the different types of extinguisher and identify the different classes of fire.

Door Supervisor:This will enable you to apply for an SIA Licence and give you the opportunity to work in the Security Industry.

How long will it take?

The qualification will be studied over 4 weeks, 4 days a week, however there may be variations in study period depending upon the venue you choose to study.

How will I be assessed?

All elements of the course will be continuous assessment against the criteria, established through the completion of a portfolio of evidence, observation of practical knowledge and workplace competency, and/or on-screen/paper based final tests.
